Lawn Mowing Services: Houma & Surrounding Area

How we can help…

When we come to your property we are going to be completely thorough with your Gray LA lawn mowing service.  Bayou Turf Pros standard service includes the following:

  • Mowing with a professional grade lightweight mower that won’t tear up your yard
  • Line trimming all the areas on the property including fences, around posts, trees, and curbs
  • Edging the sidewalks, driveways, and curbs with a metal blade edger
  • Cleaning up all grass clippings on the property.

The price you pay is determined by the square footage of the turf on the property.  We don’t upcharge if you live in a fancy neighborhood; the price is the price, and it’s fair across the board.  Some other things to note during service:  If we are servicing your property and notice an empty trash can needs to be brought back up to the house from the road then we are going to do it.  We pick up kids toys before we mow and place them on the porch.  We refill your dogs water bowl if we notice it getting low.  These are the extras that set us apart, and it’s just normal day to day activities for us.

Mulch Installation Services: Houma & Surrounding Area

How we can help…

Spring is coming and it’s time to start thinking about mulching your flower beds for the summer. Our Gray LA mulch installation services not only look great but are also extremely beneficial to your garden. It traps moisture in the soil so you don’t have to water as often, and it acts as an insulator so your plants’ roots don’t get too hot. (It has the same effect in the winter, keeping plants from getting too cold.)   Mulch reduces your maintenance time by suppressing weeds, so you don’t have to spend your weekend pulling nasty weeds.

For optimal performance, groundcover should be installed at a depth of 3-4 inches and rocks should be at a depth of 2-3 inches.  It’s important that these items are installed properly to ensure performance and protection. We are careful that materials are not laid too close to the structure siding or due any damage to the house.  With a Gray LA mulch installation, we offer a variety of groundcovers and rock options for our clients. We use the highest quality materials so your planting beds maintain that vibrant look for an extended amount of time. Even when using the highest quality groundcover, mulch should be replaced yearly due to decomposition and rocks (pea gravel, blue stone gravel, red gravel, slate, river rock) should be replaced every 2-3 years depending on condition.

Shrub & Hedge Pruning Services: Houma & Surrounding Area

How we can help…

Shrubs, hedges, and bushes are all valid ways to promote better privacy around your home, as well as add a ton of value and plant growth to any lawn. However, it doesn’t take long for them to grow scraggly, erratic, and become covered in dead leaves and limbs. Over time, your ignored shrubs will attract pests who thrive on dead plant materials. When you have entire sections of hedging, it could take you hours to successfully trim them all to your liking.

Instead, Bayou Turf Pros provides the best in affordable Gray LA shrub and hedge trimming services. No matter how many shrubs, hedges, trees, and other plants that you have, we guarantee to leave them looking their best after each visit. Don’t choose expensive landscaping services — we’ll keep your yard looking perfect each month at affordable pricing.

Shrubs

Shrubs are unique additions to your yard because depending on the species, it may be a form of bush, flower, or even a shorter tree type. Regardless of which shrubs you have on your property, they all require trimming before long. It is recommended trimming, at the very least, twice each year. In most situations, your shrubs retain a ton of dead growth from the winter season, and proper trimming in the fall ensures that they stay safe going into hibernation.
Each type of shrub has specific care requirements and attempting to treat all of them the same way may result in harming or even killing certain species. Give your shrubs the individualized treatment they need by choosing to work with Bayou Turf Pros.

Hedges

Although your hedges seem as if they are one large plant, it is actually a collection of separate shrubs, bushes, and trees growing closely together. Over time, these different plants may end up harming one another solely through natural growth patterns. You rely on your hedgerows for privacy, decreased street noise, and for a greener yard without fencing products. However, because they are living plants, they need trimming services as well.  We provide well-manicured finishes to all of your hedges, as well as the best treatment plans for sustained healthy growth. Whatever your hedgerows require for lusher, greener leaves, we have it all in stock.

GRAY LA LEAF CLEANUP

SERVING THE GREATER HOUMA LA AREA

PHONE 985-256-5335

Leaf Cleanup Services: Houma & Surrounding Area

How we can help…

One of the main needs of grass to grow favorably is light. When leaves are left on the grass for too long, it blocks out the sun and your grass will start to stress. Fall is the best time of the year for the grass to recover from the summer.  So, it is always best to keep the leaf litter at a minimum during this period so the turf is getting maximum light and can really get thick before the winter period. This time of the year is also when many lawns are getting their best light since the tree shade is at a minimum once all the leaves drop.

Leaf litter also holds moisture and slows evaporation. If the accumulated leaves are allowed to sit for too long, this excess moisture will cause decay and in conjunction with the lack of sunlight you will see marked decline in your turf quality.  Leaf litter left for too long decreases vigor and leads to bare spots. Once Spring rolls around, the turf will be slow to respond and weeds will certainly take advantage of the bare spots and thin turf that are left behind.

As part of our Houma lawn care mowing service,  clean ups can be done at anytime but are normally done in spring and fall. Performing a proper clean up allows for assessment of the turf, landscape beds, gutters etc. Spring clean ups focus on clearing all areas of the property to prepare it for the growing season, while fall clean ups focus on leaf clearing so the lawn is protected and remains healthy for the next growing season.

Many of our clients prefer that their property stays tidy all season long so we offer weekly leaf removal.  Other clients prefer to schedule a few cleanups per season. Bayou Turf Pros can schedule leaf cleanups any time throughout the year.  The 2 weeks before Thanksgiving and before Christmas fill up fast, so let us know a few weeks in advance if you’re planning a holiday party.
